The koru design (Māori for ‘”loop or coil”‘), is a spiral shape inspired by the new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art & carving, where it symbolises new life, growth, harmony & abundance.
Rimu is one of the most popular of our native timbers. The heartwood timber varies in colour from a golden colour to a darker brown, with a red hint and beautiful irregular streaks.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: These can simply be wiped with a damp cloth or to remove any spills, wash in warm soapy water, re-oil with any vegetable oil, olive oil is fine to use. If badly marked rub gently along the grain with fine sandpaper then oil.
